In memory of our precious baby, Remington "Remi" Lyn Remer: November 2011

Today, we took a prepaid VISA to some dear friends of ours. Their daughter, Olivia, is having open heart surgery Tuesday at U of M. This is something that they knew was going to have to be done eventually, but it is still so scary! She will be in the hospital for a few weeks, but we are praying for a quick recovery! Please keep Olivia and her family in your thoughts and prayers over the next few days/weeks! Pray for the knowledge and skills of the doctors, healing of Olivia's body, and peace and comfort for her family :)

We also sent a prepaid VISA to a lady who had a baby boy born at only 6 months gestation. He was very small and will be in the NICU for a while, so we are hoping this gift card will help in some small way to pay for some of her expenses as she travels back and forth. Please keep this sweet baby in your prayers as well!

Today, we sent a prepaid VISA to a family at The Toledo Hospital staying with their baby in the NICU. We have found that it's difficult to send baskets of goodies when the babies are in the NICU because you are not allowed to keep any food in the rooms, so we have been sending mostly prepaid VISAs to these families. This mom had many complications during her pregnancy & her and her husband chose to put their faith in God for their little miracle baby. Ava was born 8 weeks early and is doing well, but has a long road ahead of her. We hope this gift card will help the parents pay for some of the expenses they may incur traveling back and forth from the hospital as they have other children at home. Please pray for little baby Ava & for strength for the family during this difficult time!

We also sent a prepaid VISA to the family of little baby Drew, who was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and was eventually life-flighted to Ann Arbor. It sounds like he will be in the hospital for quite some time & the family also has another child at home so they will be doing a lot of driving back and forth from the hospital. We pray that our small gift will help this family in some way during this difficult time. Please keep baby Drew in your prayers, as well as his family!

On March 13, 2009, at 9:41 pm, we were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Remington Lyn. We were aware that she was going to have Down syndrome, and we were so excited about the journey ahead of us. That night and the next day many doctors checked her out, and we were told she was healthy and could go home with us the next day. We took our little angel home the next day and were able to spend 3 wonderful nights at home as a family. Then Remi was admitted back into the hospital for jaundice. She was soon diagnosed with Hirschsprung's Disease and was scheduled for surgery. On March 26, 2009, she had her first surgery and complications started soon after. On March 27, 2009, she had her second surgery. Ten days later, on April 6, 2009, she left our arms and went to heaven to be with Jesus. While Remi was in the hospital, we stayed right by her side every second of every day. Our wonderful family and friends brought us all the shower/bathroom supplies we needed, clothes from our home, and more food than you could imagine. However, we realized through this whole experience, how difficult it can be having a child in the hospital for many days and how hard it is to live out of a waiting room. Because of this, we created R Angel. The money donated to R Angel is used to help families of sick children. We use the money to purchase and deliver care packages with shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc., baskets of food and drinks, and hot meals from our favorite restaurants to families living in the hospital with their children. We also use the money to purchase prepaid VISAs for families that may be traveling back and forth to the hospital daily to be with their child as well as families that are in hospitals outside the Toledo and surrounding area. We want to keep the spirit of our daughter alive and want to help families staying at the hospital as so many helped us.
