We recently sent another prepaid VISA to the family of a little girl, Madison, who has cancer. This family is having to travel back and forth to and from the hospital for all Madison's treatments, so we hope this gift card will help pay for food, gas, or whatever else they may need along the way. Let's keep Madison and her family in our thoughts and prayers, especially over the holiday season!

We recently were told of a little boy, Aiden, who has been diagnosed with SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy). We know, from close friends of our family, that this family has a long road ahead of them and we will continue to keep them in our prayers. Aiden is currently at Cincinnati Children's Hospital being treated. R Angel sent this family a gift card to help pay for food while staying at the hospital or for other expenses they may incur while there. We wish them all the best and hope they can come home soon! Please keep Aiden in your thoughts and prayers!

We recently heard of a little boy, Bryson, who is only 1 year old, and has been diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a cancer found in infants and young children. His family has been driving back and forth to Cleveland for extensive treatments. Bryson recently was admitted back to the hospital in Cleveland for a second transplant. R Angel sent this family a gift card to help with expenses for food, gas, etc. while getting Bryson the treatment he needs. Please keep this family in your continued prayers!

You may also remember the little boy, Keegan, who I wrote about a few weeks ago. Well, Keegan had his heart surgery yesterday at The University of Michigan. The lady that contacted us is actually going to visit Keegan's family in the next few days, so we made them a basket of food and goodies and it will be taken to them up in Ann Arbor. They are going to be in the hospital for at least 10 more days. Please keep this family in your prayers as well!

When we started R Angel, we got in contact with a lady from the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Toledo who is in charge of sending something to children with Down syndrome and their families when they are hospitalized. We thought that she would be a great way for us to connect with these families and help them out in a small way when they are staying in the hospital with their children. We recently got a call from her to inform us of a little boy, Keegan, who will be undergoing heart surgery this month at The University of Michigan. R Angel sent Keegan's family a gift card to help with expenses while staying there during his surgery and recovery. We are also planning on sending a basket of goodies up to them after he has surgery. Please keep Keegan and his family in your thoughts and prayers!

Also, continue praying for R Angel and the ability for us to get connected to more and more families! We have a few new ideas that we are looking into regarding R Angel and ways to continue raising money, so we will let you know when things are finalized. We also have been in contact with Toledo Children's Hospital regarding stocking the shower room with baskets of supplies for people who may not have realized they would be staying in the hospital, and therefore, may not have brought those types of things with them. They have not contacted us back, so we are about to just go stock the room anyways :)! Thanks again to all who have donated money, allowing us to do these wonderful things for people in Remi's name and honor! We miss her dearly, but she continues to live in our hearts and through R Angel, for sure!

I met a mom the other day who delivered twins at 31 weeks gestation. One of the twins went straight to heaven and the other twin is in the NICU and will be there for at least 2 more weeks. Mom has been traveling back and forth to and from the hospital to spend as much time as possible with her baby. R Angel sent her a gift card to use to purchase food or any other supplies needed during this difficult time. Please keep Amy's family and her babies in your thoughts and prayers.

We recently were told of a family that lost their child, Wyatt, in a terrible accident. We have a special place in our hearts for parents who have lost a child and decided to help them out in a small way through R Angel. We sent them a gift card to help with some expenses they may have because we know how the bills can pile up and how hard it can be to get back to life in general. Please keep Wyatt's family in your thoughts and prayers!

Today, we got to make 2 more R Angel deliveries. One was another basket of goodies to a family staying at the hospital with one of their twins, Adrienne. This mother has been staying at the hospital with her sick daughter and has been keeping Adrienne's twin there as well. Her story was brought to our attention by a simple phone call and we hopefully were able to help out their family in a small way. Our second delivery was to a family that recently had twins at 25 weeks gestation. One of the twins did not make it and went to be with our daughter Remi in heaven, but the other twin is fighting very hard and is doing quite well. He was born at only 1 lb. 9 oz., but is ever so cute and is holding his own right now. This family is not able to stay over night at the hospital because baby Evan is going to be there for several weeks, but we were able to give them some gift cards that hopefully will help with the purchase of food and drinks when coming to the hospital daily over the next couple of months. Thank you to everyone who has donated to R Angel to make these deliveries possible. Please keep baby Adrienne and baby Evan in your prayers!

On Wednesday, May 6, 2009, we got to deliver our very first R Angel basket of goodies to the hospital. Unfortunately, we delivered it to one of my best friends, Hillary. She had a daughter, Molly, and she was admitted to the NICU for immature lungs and fluid on her lungs. Hillary was discharged, but Molly had to be in the NICU for over a week. So, we took Hillary and her husband, Chad, a basket full of bottled waters, juices, snacks, microwavable meals, soups, candy, gum, and lots more goodies to eat while staying at the hospital. It was a great feeling to be able to help out a family trying to live out of the hospital like we had to for weeks - thanks to R Angel! Molly has since been discharged and is doing very well.
